As I listen to the fireworks exploding outside (don't worry, we live in the county and will be outside with our own in a little while), I can't help but think of the bounty and blessings we enjoy as Americans. Our country isn't perfect, far from it, we could spend days listing it's faults. BUT, stop and think for a minute about what we DO have. There are two main holidays I try not to be out on the road for, that is New Year's Eve and 4th of July. I like to call them amateur hours. I don't do crowds out in the open very well, and besides, I don't believe alcoholic beverages and fireworks go well together. It is just a recipe for disaster. So I stay home. I do have plans to spend time with friends tomorrow at a picnic but it is during the day. You better bet I'll be home well before dark. I'll watch the fireworks on television.&... Read More
