President's Day Poem
Posted On 02/20/2012 20:44:03 by pamblackburn
George Washington, Adams and Jefferson three
First rulers of Uncle Sam's land of the free:
Then Madison, Monroe and Adams again
All clever and upright and good honest men;
The Jackson, Van Buren and Harrison first,
Tyler and Polk whose terms were so curst
By war with the Mexicans who lost in the fray -
Then Taylor and Fillmore and Pierce held their sway.
Buchanan and Lincoln, Johnson and Grant,
Then Hayes, martyred Garfield, despiser of cant,

Today is Valentine's Day!!!   In the mind of an elementary school kid....today is Can't Get Enough Candy Day.  In schools across the country, little one's will be extending little paper cards of friendship not to one kid or a select few but to their entire classroom.  As adults, we can stand to learn a little from this.  Equal-Opportunity Valentine Cards enable kids to learn forgiveness and how to put their feelings aside for the sake of the common good.  The thing... Posted On 12/04/2011 21:30:01 by windhamentertainment
WE LOVE A PARADE!!!   The 35th annual WAAY Christmas parade took place in downtown Huntsville this past Saturday.  The last time that I had personally participated was about 15 years ago.  I was performing as the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Huntsville Ballet Company's The Nutcracker, and rode with their entry.  It was not the coldest parade day that I can recall, but I was freezing.  But then again, I was sitting high on a throne, exposed to the wind... A Special Thanks to Our Military Men and Woman
Posted On 11/11/2011 09:50:55 by glorick
We are so blessed to live in a country where we take freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom from servitude for granted. Is the USA perfect? NO. But the freedom we have here to pursue the American dream, to worship as we please and to raise our children according to our values is truly a blessing. We have an immigration problem in part because people from other countries don't have the same opportunities we do here! So today it is appropriate for us to pause and say THANK YOU to th... OCTOBER –

9/11 everyday
Posted On 09/11/2011 14:27:45 by Quilterkay12345
Ballgames, newspapers, blogs, and websites, all today celebrating and mourning at the same time.  Church services where the topic is about the day today and the day 10 years ago.

I think this is all so very wonderful.  But what about  10/11 or 11/11 or 12/11, do we really carry this deep sense of America in our hearts and show it to others.  Do we open doors, walk a little lighter, smile at strangers and remember that the rude person we see is probably living a lif... Okay, so here I am on this wet and windy Tuesday.  To bad it's not Wednesday I just used two W words!

This I'll use the word torrential.  Like in a torrential rainfall, cause that is what we had last night.  But, I should have looked up the word.  Can you use torrential with good things?  Stay tuned I'm going to look it up in the dictionary.

torrent - a tumultuous outpouring  a deluge,  So can't we have an outpouring of good faith, or goo... Read More
