Where in the world have you been?

We recently saw an app of Facebook called “The Travel List Challenge”.  It lists 100 places in the world; and the challenge is to check off all of the places you've visited.  The creators believe that most people will have visited fewer than 10 of the places on a list.  I personally love lists like this, just like I love any quiz I come across in a magazine.  So Darin and I each checked off our own lists.  I had been to 32; and Darin had been to 44.  We are both well-travelled, but there are also several “places” on the list that we had not been to, though we visited those particular countries.  We have our own personal “bucket list” of places to see in our lifetime.  They include Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, South Africa, Brazil, Peru, Bora Bora and Antarctica.  Many of them are on the list, and we should be able to check them off in the next five years; and we have several friends who will be joining us on our adventures.  Interested in the challenge?  Go to:

I don't know how I'd fair on the challenge, but one of the things on my bucket list is to get to all 50 states.  I've been to around 45.  The only ones I've missed so far is Alaska and some of the New England states.  I've had a couple of opportunities, but never made it out of the states.  Even though there are several places I'd love to go, the top ones for me are Ireland, because my maiden name is Irish and I've done a lot of family history research, and Australia because I have several friends there.  A couple have been here to visit me and have promised to get there to see their side of the world one day.

I think that every area has it's own beauty and uniqueness, so don't know other than that I could pick one top place to visit.

Hi!  We have several people (inlcuding us) wanting to go to Australia/New Zealand in fall of 2013, an Alaskan cruise in summer of 2014, and an African (Big 5) safari in 2015.  Let's all keep each other posted.  We just got back last night from a Western Caribbean cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale.  About to post a topic about the recent virus outbreak.  Our group of 81 and the rest of the passengers on Liberty of the Seas were fine (as far as we know), but three ships (one RCCL and 2 Princess) had some illness aboard.  Always unfortunate.
